The rehearsal is a great opportunity for both families and friends to get to know each other better before the wedding. When picking your venue, take advantage of their environment. Everyone there is excited and stressed, so help ease the tension with some good food and drinks. Here are some of our favorite rehearsal dinner restaurants here in Austin.

Salt Lick

Salt Lick is worth the trek to Driftwood for some of the best barbecue in Austin. Salt Lick has everything essential to having a great Texas barbecue experience. With moist brisket, fall-off-the-bone ribs, da bomb sausage, and a live local band on the weekend, this place will surely impress your guest. Not to mention it’s BYOB and you can buy local wine at the vineyard next door.

Want to enjoy southern food with a modern twist? Moonshine is the place for you. The restaurant has a rustic, casual feel with an exquisite patio and gorgeous fireplace. Some of our favorites are the Chicken and Waffles served with a corn meal waffle and chipotle cream gravy and the Jalapeno Hanger Steak. Moonshine is also said to have some of the best mac and cheese in town.

Peached Tortilla

Want to experience something familiar with something new? Try the Peach Tortilla. This food trailer turned brick-and-mortar restaurant serves Asian-fusion southern comfort food that includes food like their Lush Pork Belly Bowl with kimchi and rice and the Southern Fun that includes braised brisket, kale, and wide rice noodles.

Botticelli’s is an Italian restaurant that prides itself on its fresh ingredients, old family recipes, and some inventive new recipes. The restaurant has a lovely, intimate beer garden in the back with live music on the weekends. For all you wine lovers out there, Botticelli’s wine select is one of the best in town.

La Condesa

La Condesa takes Mexican street food to another level. This place doesn’t have our usual Tex-Mex cuisine. Their food is inspiring and creative Mexican food. The décor inside is colorful and bright and the dessert is to die for. We recommend the Dulce de Leche a pudding cake with saffron and cream cheese ice cream and the Boca Negra, a flourless chocolate cake with brown sugar banana ice cream. They also have some of the best margaritas in town.

Parkside is a bold take on American Cuisine. Located on East 6th street, this restaurant is hip and modern with a spirited vibe. Parkside changes their menu seasonally to insure they use the freshest ingredient. If you love oysters Parkside is the place for you. Their ten different types of oysters would perfect for you and your guest to share.

North Italia

If you want to experience a modern take on little Italy right here in Austin, North Italia is the place for you. Located in the Domain, this is a great place to end after a long day of shopping. North is the gold standard for fresh ingredients. Every day they make their pasta from scratch to make delicious entrees like their Strozzapreti with bloomdale spinach or their wonderful Bolognese.

Perla’s Seafood & Oyster Bar

Perla’s Seafood & Oyster Bar is the best place in town to get seafood. Perla’s offers fresh fish and oyster that are brought in daily. Perla’s bar also makes some of the most delicious cocktails in Austin. The restaurant’s nautical-themed interior is fun and bright, and its spacious deck, shaded by large oak trees, is a great option during the summer.
