Mani’s and Asra’s Sofreh


The sofreh table was lavished decorated. Some of the many symbolic features of the sofreh were:
- Ayneh va Shamdun – a mirror and 2 candleabras representing the couple & their bright future
- Gol – flowers for beauty
- Painted Eggs - representing fertility
- Sangak – Persian flatbread for prosperity
- Nabat – crystallized sugar for sweetness
- Asal – honey that Asra and Mani fed to each other immediately after they wed for their first taste of married life
