gourmet-appetizerEveryone’s budget seems to be a little tighter these days. Brides are looking for ways to get the most bang for their buck. A simple nod to the clock can help stretch your catering dollars. Time your reception for mid to late afternoon so that a reception with cocktails or beer/wine and heavy hors d’oeuvres is appropriate.

Appetizer only Receptions offer you so many options. Butlered hors d’oeuvres add an air of elegance to any reception. Displays of seasonal fruits and local cheeses are always a hit. Be sure to include bite-size versions of your favorite foods; it is your wedding after all!!

Schedule your ceremony at an appropriate time so your guests will not be expecting a full meal. Add a note to the bottom of your invitations stating “Cocktails and Hors D’Oeuvres Reception to follow”.

Not only will this approach save you money; but you can spend more time mingling and celebrating with your guests.

I am so excited to have the Villa St. Clair blog up and running. It is our goal to be a source of information and inspiration for brides in Austin and across the globe. Our first anniversary is fast approaching. It’s hard to believe that our venue is almost a year old. For those of you unfamiliar with Villa St. Clair, let me give you some details. We are a family owned and operated facility in Austin Texas. We specialize in fabulous weddings and special events. Villa St. Clair has an amazing staff of Le Cordon Bleu trained chefs, wedding planners, fabulous florists, and an awesome waitstaff. We love our jobs because we get to help amazing clients turn their dreams into realities.
